The CBAM report your EU buyer asks you for
Your EU buyer files the CBAM declaration and pays for the certificates. What it needs from you, the producer, is the embedded emissions of each product you sell it, worked out with the EU method and verified. Without that report your buyer must use the EU default value with a mark-up, which is set high on purpose and usually costs more.
Download a sample pack (zip, fictional plant) A CBAM report example: every file described below.
What the report contains
- Emissions report (Excel)
- Embedded emissions per tonne of each product: direct emissions, precursors, the method used and each figure's source.
- Commission communication template (Excel)
- The Commission's own template for installations, filled in from your data, which your buyer's declarant reads. Some importers' CBAM software reads this template directly: if your buyer asks you to enter your figures in its tool, ask whether it takes the Commission's template and upload this file instead of typing.
- Monitoring plan (Word)
- The plan a verifier checks against, with the minimum elements of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/2547, filled where your data allows.
- Consignment statements (PDF)
- A numbered one-page statement per shipment with the embedded emissions of every good on it.
- UK CBAM statement (CSV)
- The same figures in the UK's terms, for buyers in Great Britain from 2027.
- Evidence folder
- Every bill and register behind a figure, an index with each file's SHA-256 hash, and a log of every change.
Who does what
- You, the producer: keep a year of fuel, electricity, production and purchase records, work out the embedded emissions per product, and have them verified by a verifier accredited in the EU.
- Your EU buyer: enters your verified figures in its annual CBAM declaration (the first, for 2026 imports, is due by 30 September 2027) and surrenders certificates for them.
Free help for each step: the embedded emissions calculator, the communication template guide and checker, the monitoring plan template and the ways to comply compared.
What the paid CBAM Evidence Pack adds
The free tools estimate. The Evidence Pack works out your real figures from your own records and prepares the records an accredited verifier usually asks for, so your buyer can use them instead of the default value once verified.
- Emissions per product, worked out with the EU method from your own fuel, electricity, production and bought-in metal
- "Read with AI" fills in the figures from your electricity and fuel bills
- Every figure linked to its source document, with a SHA-256 hash and an audit log: the evidence file your verifier asks for
- Monitoring plan (Word), emissions report (Excel) and the UK CBAM statement for UK buyers, filled in from your data: EU and UK in one price
- Links for your suppliers to send their emissions data, and private links for your EU buyers to see your figures
- Team access, data stored in the EU (documents you send to AI reading are processed in the USA), and a refund within 14 days if you have downloaded nothing
